Idea

Introduction

We believe credit cards are too expensive in the UK. They come with high interest rates: average credit card APRs have reached an all-time high of 30.4%. Not to mention the many additional fees (balance transfer fee, annual fee, cash advance fee, late payment fee, etc). They also come with artificially-long repayment schedules, trapping borrowers into debt.

We’re on a mission to change that. We’ve launched the Elfin Card, which provides flexible credit 50% cheaper than the average credit card, and fair and transparent pricing. And we’ve built state-of-the-art iOS and Android applications to manage your credit account in real time.

Substantial accomplishments to date

- We have lent over £50mn to 18,000 borrowers who made 250k+ transactions through our platform

- We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority for consumer credit activities, including peer to peer lending

- We have recently received our first institutional lending investments for £8mn

- Our user base and loan book have been growing at over 10% per month in the past three months (Jul - Sept '23).

Monetisation strategy

We collect a flat servicing fee of 2.5% before passing on interest from borrowers to lenders.

Valuation (pre-money)

This is the fully-diluted pre-money valuation of the business (i.e. before the new investment comes in and including issued options and other equity interests). In contrast, the post-money valuation is based on inclusion of the new investment in the value.
